After years as resellers of prestigious brands, Guidi Calzature now also switches to the production of its own line of high quality products.

We are pleased to present the brand new collection by Guidi Calzature, for now dedicated to the male universe. Our models are the result of the work of some of the best Italian artisans who make shoes using the finest materials. The products we designed combine elegance and modernity with an eye that is always attentive to the smallest details.

To date, the collection is spread over three categories. For the Poles we have chosen classic colors such as black, brown and blue so that they can be easily combined. We opted for the suede that has that timeless charm and that with the waterproof spray can become infinite. SOLE

The sole is the external part of the shoe in contact with the ground and its task is to provide stability, protection and waterproofing. It can be of various materials and the more quality it is, the longer it will last. In more expensive shoes and boots the sole is hand-stitched and connected to the upper while in other shoes it is simply glued. At the back of the sole the heel is applied while in the front part an elevation called Platuau is sometimes applied.

MIDSOLE

The midsole is located under the upper and above the sole, this part provides flexibility and cushioning while walking or running. It is usually made of EVA or polyurethane, with various gel inserts or other technologies to increase the feeling of comfort even more. The midsole is mainly used for sneakers or in general for sports shoes.

UPPER

The upper is the upper part that wraps the entire foot. It can be of various materials and binds to the midsole through seams or glue; moreover it is normal nowadays to find other elements linked to the upper, for aesthetic and reinforcement purposes. The role of the upper can be summarized in protection and stability.

SPUR

A carry-over that can be real or fake which is located in the rear area of ​​the heel. When it is fake it masks the seams while if it is true it also has the function of reinforcing the shoe.

TONGUE

This is the strip of leather under the cuffs (the part of the upper where the eyelets are made). It is often made of the same material that the upper is made of and protects the feet from the pressure of the laces.

 INSOLE

The insole is located between the midsole and the foot and is a coating that is used to give more comfort to the shoe, to correct some foot pathologies or even to make the foot feel better in a wide shoe. The insole serves above all to cushion the vibrations created by the impact of the foot on the ground. Nowadays the insoles are made of many materials such as: polyurethane, gel or the classic felt.

HEEL

The heel is applied to the back of the sole and has only an aesthetic effect to slim the legs and increase the stature. The heel can have various sizes ranging from a few centimeters up to 12 centimeters, and also various shapes of the heel that can be stiletto or platform.

LINING

The lining (or padding) is the internal part of the shoe that is the part opposite to the upper and therefore the one that is in contact with the foot. It is often made of materials that improve breathability (for summer shoes) or that retain more heat (for winter shoes).

CLOSURES

The laces are the most used, ranging from the classic ones in cotton to the more particular ones in satin and they can be of hundreds of colors.
The tears, on the other hand, are usually used in children's shoes or for people with walking difficulties as well as elastic bands or magnetic closures.
There are also particular closures such as buckles, used mostly in strivali, and zips for sandals, amphibians and ankle boots.

TECHNICAL FOOTWEAR 

The field of technical footwear is more particular because they have an accident prevention and protective function. There are shoes with iron toes for those who work on site or trekking shoes that guarantee breathability or thermal insulation.
The important thing for technical shoes is to choose the size carefully to avoid distortions and not focus on aesthetics but on comfort and performance.

Step 1: Design

Before producing a bag, it is necessary to have an idea of it. You need to have the shape, materials and finish in mind and then you can make a pattern with markings that show the location of details such as slots for the straps and seam lines for the pockets. The pieces of the pattern are then used as a guide for cutting the materials.

Step 2: Skin

The most used material is certainly leather, but eco-leather is also spreading, which is always of animal origin but has less environmental impact. It is available in many different shapes, it can be rigid or soft, smooth or with raised grain, different thicknesses and different colors and ensures resistance and support.

There are various types of leather, from common sheep or cattle up to pythons and crocodiles.

Generally, the procedure for preparing the leather is to press it first, remove all the water, then grease the fibers to maintain elasticity, softness and make them hydrophobic (waterproof).

Step 3: Assembly

When the pieces are all ready they are glued and held in place by clips. Any smooth edges are roughened with sandpaper before applying the glue to give a firm bond.

Step 4: Seams

The quality of the hand stitching is the key to the finishing of the leather bags. A nice point is a true sign of craftsmanship that you can't get by using a machine. Hand sewing involves threading two needles over a length of waxed thread and then running the thread through the holes to secure the stitch.

Once the glue has dried, the edges are sewn, so as to mask the attachment, the lining, the handles and the logo is applied with a label, a plate or imprinted with a stamp.

Step 5: Accessories

Gorgeous accessories such as buckles, studs and feet can make all the difference in the style of a bag. Usually brass and gold look great with light brown and black leathers, while silver finishes tend to be used with gray or blue.

Then you can opt for rhinestones, sequins and finish it all with handles of the same type of leather or a chain shoulder strap.

Step 1: Material

First of all, the craftsman chooses with what type of material to use. Leather is the most common one to which treatments are made to harden it and make it thicker; it can also be aged and pressed to bring out some reliefs.

Jute is also used; resistant and ductile, it is used for military belts as it can satisfy any customer request.

But it is polyester, which makes it possible to create belts with the most diverse shapes, colors and designs.

Step 2: Measurements

Then a strip of leather is cut according to the desired length and thickness.

The length, however, serves to connect, not to determine the measures. Among the seven holes made with the punching pliers, the fourth one should be used, while if there are only five, the third hole is the right one.

Contrary to popular belief, the belt should not go one and a half rounds of the waist, as it would be too long for the person's size.

Step 3: Extremity

Once a strip is obtained it is rounded while one end to create the tip the other is thinned with a sharp tool and left to soften in water. When the leather is soft enough, two holes are made then the band is folded back on itself after inserting the chosen buckle. Finally, the holes are matched and the shiny part is left visible. Step 4: Lacing

It is the focal point of a belt: it can transform it from casual to elegant and vice versa. Metal is the material particularly used to make buckles, with different processes, designs, treatments.

The size of the buckle is strictly related to the width of the belt as it is impossible to find huge buckles on 40mm wide belts.

In addition to the classic barb, which is inserted into the hole in the belt to lock it, there are other types such as the retractable one which has a small and thin cylindrical support inside. Then there are those buckles, whose closure is by tightening, in which the belt is made to slide up to the desired size.
